Today, 1 February, the EU is changing its travel restrictions in two major ways.
The EU has recommended a change in how member states manage travel restrictions, and altering the focus to the individual, away from the region of departure.
This means that covid measures should be applied based on travellers’ vaccination status rather than the situation of their origin country.
Secondly, all member states are shortening the validity of Covid-19 vaccination certificates to 270 days or nine months across the bloc.

The latest update of maps by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) shows that all Member States, with the
exception of some regions in Poland and Romania are currently part of the dark red list.
Such categorisation has been made since they have been registering increased COVID-19 infection cases since the beginning of January.
